While focusing on academics, the program aggressively incorporates individual OT and Speech as well as group OT and Speech. Recreational, therapeutic horseback riding and aquatics are among the other therapies. Research has shown that early interventions such as these can have a greater positive effect and outcome on a child’s growth and development as well as physically and emotionally regulating the child to become a successful learner.

Lower School Program:

  • Ages 6-11
  • Maximum 4 students per classroom
  • Educational Assistant in each classroom with a prerequisite of an Associate degree or higher and has attended the same ClearWater Academy specialized training as the Lead Teacher
  • Comprehensive social-emotional development program
  • Individualized Occupational (OT) and Speech Therapy
  • Group OT and Group Speech
  • Therapeutic horseback riding once per week
  • Recreational therapy once per week with Outdoor Rec. Adventures
  • Aquatic Therapy during winter months in place of therapeutic riding
  • Individualized consultation and planning with Dr. Lynda Boucugnani-Whitehead, Ph.D.
  • Individualized and personalized Netbooks for each student to be used during the school day

The Upper school is our middle school program which differs from the lower school as its primary focus shifts away from the individualized therapies, towards group therapies and intensifies in the areas of academics, computer technology and social-emotional development. The Upper school program is of less cost in tuition based on greater student ratio of 6 students per classroom. Individual OT and Speech may be arranged and contracted separately by parents/guardians (using our providers ) at their own expense and may be scheduled into the school day. Ages may overlap from classroom to classroom depending on the student’s assessed strengths and challenges.

Upper School Program:

  • Ages 11-14
  • Maximum 6 students per classroom
  • Educational Assistant in each classroom with the same prerequisite as describe above
  • Comprehensive social-emotional development program
  • Group OT and Group Speech
  • Therapeutic horseback riding once per week
  • Recreational therapy once per week with Outdoor Rec. Adventures
  • Aquatic therapy
  • Individualized consultation and planning by Dr. Lynda Boucugnani-Whitehead, Ph.D.
  • Individualized and personalized Netbooks for each student to be used during the school day
  • Individualized assistive technology specific to you child’s needs
